To protect the health and safety of the children and families we serve, all volunteers must meet the following:

• Age Requirement: Volunteers must be at least 18 years old, or accompanied by a guardian. If younger, consent must be approved by a Director.
   
• Health & Hygiene: Volunteers must maintain excellent personal hygiene and be free from any contagious illnesses. These children have compromised immune systems and their well-being is our first priority. A health screening will be required on job sites to protect the safety of the children and families.

• Background Check: A criminal record check, including vulnerable sector screening, is mandatory.

• Licensing: Contractors, electricians and other trade volunteers must provide proof of valid licensing and insurance before participating.

• Sensitivity & Compassion: Volunteers must demonstrate empathy, patience, and respect when working with families and team members.

• Workplace Conduct: Smoking, use of profanities, or any inappropriate behavior on the job site is strictly prohibited. We embrace good vibes only! Energy is transferable, and in creating a healing space, we must practice positivity and be intentional. 

• Confidentiality: Agreement to follow I'm Home Foundation’s policies, including confidentiality and ethical guidelines in respect to the children, families, and organizational information. 

• Reliability: Commitment to scheduled shifts with clear communication in case of absence. From start to finish, these bedroom designs are time sensitive, so working well under pressure to meet firm deadlines is advised.
